The use of insect netting is relatively simple, but when choosing, we should pay attention to the following aspects.
1. Cover all area
The insect-proof net needs to be fully covered, the two sides should be tightly pressed with bricks or soil, and no gaps should be left. The holes and gaps in the insect net should be checked and repaired at any time. In this way, there will be no chance for pests to invade the crops, and we can achieve a satisfactory pest control effect.
2. Choose the right size
The specifications of the insect net mainly include width, mesh size, color, and so on. In particular, if the number of meshes is too small and the mesh hole is too large, the proper insect-proof effect cannot be achieved. If the number of meshes is too many and the mesh hole is too small, although insects are prevented, the ventilation is poor, resulting in high temperature and too much shading, which is not conducive to crop growth.
3. Proper use and storage
After use, it should be collected in time, washed, dried, and rolled up to prolong the service life and increase economic benefits.
4. Color
Compared with summer in spring and autumn, the temperature is lower and the light is weaker, so white insect netting should be used; in summer, black or silver-gray insect netting should be used for both shading and cooling; in areas where aphids and viral diseases occur seriously, in order to repel to prevent aphids and virus diseases, it is advisable to use the silver-gray anti-insect net.
